Talking Minds strives to provide in-depth and comprehensive information and education specifically on the subject of mental health - respecting individual need and opinion. Talking Minds is designed to be your social care internet companion and provide you with a safe place in an unsafe world, providing you with support and advice, along with signposting when necessary. Part of the motivation behind the Talking Minds website is to make a difference, recognising that life is not black and white, and that reality is often tough. Talking Minds has a wealth of experience, and strives to ensure a fair, balanced, and inclusive service that is available at all times

The content on Talking Minds has a politically left-wing Socialist perspective. However, the Twisted section will strive to provide an objective framework to all its articles, recognising diverse viewpoints on the subject of mental health stigma. At times, Talking Minds will make reference to different models and perspectives such as the social model. This is because, the material available on Talking Minds is aimed at providing mental health information and education from a social model (aiming to see everyone as a person first and not a diagnosis) perspective; therefore, to maintain objectivity and reflexivity, Talking Minds will discuss other models such as the medical to compare against the social model.
Moreover, Talking Minds expects all site users to respect everybody's individuality and differences. That is, anyone who registers with Talking Minds Wordspace is expected to treat everyone with respect, seeing each other as people first - not their condition, diagnosis, status, or difference (see equal opportunities policy and/or follow the site F.A.Q's link in the main and top menus).
Talking Minds will seek to provide as much education, support, information, and advice for free. Obviously, at this time Talking Minds is only internet based, but with the provision of a community area, it is hoped that all site users will feel that they can positively contribute and support each other through their own experiences.
